MAINTENANCE ON MY BROTHERS CAR - SUNDAY ACTIVITY 23/05/2021

in Weekend Experiences3 years ago

Hello everyone,
I hope you had a great time today. Well, my Sunday was good and I had to stay at home today.

I'm going to share with you my today's activities. I hope you find it fun and learn from it.

How well do you maintain your car?

It's not a big deal about the maintenance of the car, by giving it proper servicing and checking. Today, my brother and I did some maintenance on his car.

My brother was having a serious problem with his car. He found out that his car floor mat is always getting wet as if someone deliberately poured water into his car floor mats. So I have to do some investigation/findings to know where the fault was. Seriously, if you're experiencing this, it makes you feel nervous and eager to get any solution. Yeah, I know how you feel.

Well, I'll share with you 5 possible causes of wet car mats. I hope you find it useful
1)Blocked windshield cowl drain
2)Windshield seal fault
3)Leaking heating system
4)Blocked air conditioning drain
5)Blocked sunroof drain.

Apart from being annoying, a leak has the potential to create lots of other very expensive problems.

We took the car to a workshop to find out the fault of the wet floor mats.
It was a difficult one for the mechanic, but still, we trust his expertise. After much checking, we did find out the fault.
And that was a Blocked sunroof drain.

If your sunroof is a tilt and slide type, it will have roof guttering and drains. One at both corners carries any rainwater that enters the sunroof assembly. Is attached to each of the four assembly drains is a flexible green hose fitted inside the roof pillars, that carries the water to the ground.

These causes could be blockages, disconnected pipework, and corrosion at the roof assembly drain spout.
My brother's car issue blockages, it's was sealed with gum. Maybe an inexperienced mechanic did that.

Here are some pictures I took today.
I was able to understand the value of maintenance. Hope my post was helpful

Thank you.
