Antibiotics are sometimes needed. I remember 10 years ago, I first went to the hospital with pneumonia. I lay at home for 7 days with a temperature of 39 and thought that the disease would go away on its own and did not take medicine, it turned out that the disease was very serious, I spent 1.5 months in the hospital. Then I read that in the 19th century, without antibiotics, with pneumonia, only 30% of people survived.
That is crazy!
Normally, we wouldn't have gone in, but after a couple days of high fever and the medication to bring it down barely impacting, it was time. Glad we did go in though.
