Actually, this has always been dry land (even though there is a river passing next door). The lake has been the result of the unexpected heavy rain. People stay away from the park now because of the mosquitoes, but I think it looks prettier with all that water.
At least it covers the poorly kept grass.
Every disappointment truly is a blessing.
