I do not know if I should call it luck or consider it my hard work paying off. I am one of the few student who do not have a close or personal relationship with their lecturers. Aside from assignments, a final year project or something of great importance, there is nothing that will make me go to speak with my lecturers.
Last Friday, I got a call from one of the most feared lecturers in my department. After introducing himself, he told me to expect a call from my head of department that he only called to confirm that I am the student that the department has on their list. After he hanged up, I had a mixed feeling of fear, and anxiety. Afraid that I might have unintentionally done something bad and at the same time, I was anxious because I know I do not cause any problem or have issues with anybody in school that would warrant a call from my head of department. Some minutes later, while still thinking about it, my phone rang, and it was the head of the department. After the pleasantry, she announced that I have been nominated by the department to go on a skill acquisition program, and I should get ready for the interview and audition by the weekend. The next day, which was a weekend, I woke up early and said a little word of prayer before leaving for the skill acquisition center in the school premises. Getting there, I met other students from other faculties, and I was made to understand that passing the interview would guarantee a student being picked for the opportunity. I was kind of anxious because I was not that prepared to face any panel. I stepped out a bit to get fresh air and get myself ready. When it was my turn for the interview, I went into the interview room and answered all the questions I was asked, and the panel was so impressed with my performance.
So my darling😊 guess who was called to come receive my training kits as a successful candidate.😍 Lucky Meeee🤗🤭😊😍 I went back to the center and got my kits, which include a skirt, a jotter, a pen, and the flag off day programme. I am so grateful to my department for this opportunity to gain more knowledge, and I promise to use it wisely.
After the training, I will be a certified cooperate image manager.🤭 I feel so lucky.🤗
