I will say it every chance I get....Frontier mode is one of the best things Splinterlands has done in a LONG time. It feels like the old glory days of Splinterlands. It's nice being matched with opponents who have similar power decks. The abilities are interesting, but not overly complex. Being able to earn playable cards and hoping to get a lucky pull is SO much more exciting than earning Glint. Earning daily chests reminds me of the old daily quests. It is an incentive to log in and play each day. I feel like the smaller selection of cards is also a benefit. It allows me to connect more with each card and memorize the abilities in a way that isn't possible with such a large card pool in Survival, Wild, and Modern (to a lesser extent).
