I do a little every month, but my focus has been increasing my HP, for governance and to be able to make more meaningful upvotes.
HBD is genuinely a gem though 15% APY on a stable asset is virtually unobtainable elsewhere.
Here is what is currently available on AAVE (BNB) - the only assets that even approaches HBD for APY is USDT, which I personally don't want to hold.
What I found the last time I used a DEX or DEFI protocol for staking for APR was that transaction fees ostensibly made staking small amounts of any arbitrary asset a losing proposition. The transaction and platform fees effectively negated any gain.
This is where HBD shines. Even if a user can only stake $1 on a week it's still worth it.
With a flat 15% APY those dollars can grow relatively quickly.
To get out of HBD, back to hive, without liquidity for hbd:
7 days
3 to withdraw from savings
3.5 to convert from hbd to hive
It is better than a term deposit. I tend to plan my finances months in advance (and have no intent of liquidating HBD or HIVE anytime soon) - but the current timeframes are not an inconvenience to me.
Is a service like simple swap able to go HIVE -> BTC -> USD ?
What is is that you can't buy with USD that requires the conversion? :) Perhaps we should be able to buy things direct with HIVE! :)
Thank you. I don't know why people don't buy and stake more HBD (I know it is hard to buy and sell, but that is changing soon!)

Exactly, and it is feeless. It absolutely shines for smaller asset holdings.
People can buy as much hive as they like and use the conversion mechanism. HBD liquidity problem solved, right?
NO!
If I want a stablecoin, I need to be able to convert it to USD for free very quickly. It must show up at my bank as cash in zero days to 3 days.
Right now in the US, it is not possible. It is not possible to buy/sell hive from US. We are trying to change that.

I can't buy hive for free using cash............that is the problem in the USA!
Not the only one, as previously discussed in another thread!
There are only a few options in AU to obtain HIVE, as well. Fees everywhere!
