Yeah, I spent a lot of time moving all of my gains into HBD. Probably when I should have been growing my HIVE stake, but oh well. Even at 10% interest, it was a great deal.
Yeah, people talk about "rainy day fund"..3 months to 6 months to 1 year worth of expenses in a savings account depending on your life situation, economy, country etc. I hope we can provide people with confidence to trust our Hive-HBD ecosystem to do that. We we offer higher interest rate, and as you say even it is reduced to 10% it is still massive compared to any brick and mortar bank.
In the US it would be hard to move that HBD into anything physical in the case of an emergency, but I do hope that changes one day. Until then I just let it keep growing and throwing my interest back into it every 30 days or so.
This is also my problem. I've convinced my partner to use HBD for some safe interest position rather than a 5% CD, but getting her capital into HIVE is quite troublesome. At least with SPS on Base now, she can go through coinbase to buy SPS and then swap it for HIVE, which is a decent work around, but still a bit cumbersome with fees.
