Beautiful news!
After many days of work, maybe a week or 2... my Capybara Solitaire game got accepted on crazygames! This is a game changer for a dream come true...
IF YOU ARE READY TO PLAY AND DON'T MEAN TO READ ALL THIS, JUST CLICK HERE AND PLAY! but if you want to know the story too, keep reading...
Backstory
I started making games when I was little, the first engine I used was RPG maker; I was having a ton of fun but I could never finish that game. Then I worked on little projects on my own like websites for school projects and stuff like that; always aiming to make things fun and interactive.
Jumping to just a few years ago, a game you could have heard of is Motitta's house, this game combines NFTs minted on tezos you can use to decorate the house. We even had some invited artists collaborating.
One of the most recent projects I made games for was Gigatura, with @stellabelle. I made a game called Goma VS WAGMI and GOMATCH. AI wasn't on today's level back then so this games were made with some open source bases and my knowledge on HTML5.
Tbh, I can't remember all the things I have done regarding this topic...
And now...
Back to present... I recently quit my job and started thinking... can I really have a job? a boss? a schedule? Should I look for another job? or clients? I don't hate any of those things, but what makes me really happy is doing my own stuff. So I decided to give a chance to game developing... again.
I started with a game I called Outpaws (still on very early phase of dev, so it is not online yet...), I made that game because I wanted to try and learn how to save scores on a Database. Then I started working on Yamagotchi, which you may know about it for my latests posts.
After a few weeks working on these projects I started searching on ways to monetize my games, that's when I found crazygames, a platform where you upload your game and they do the distribution and monetizing.
Capybara Solitaire is born!
I thought Outpaws and Yamagotchi would be very hard to finish in short term, so the best idea was to start again with a new game with a chance to be liked by players combining the classic Solitaire Klondike and adorable Capybaras. So the idea of Capybara Solitaire was born!
On crazygames they accept various game engines, but I decided to go with HTML5 since is the one I am more experienced with; also went for a subscription for github Copilot to have AI help directly on Visual Studio Code. And started working so the game could be actually exist.
It is not easy to get accepted, since if they find something wrong with your game they only send a rejection email with no further explanation.
They just send a generic email. Fortunately you can make changes and improvements and try again. So I did over and over again.. until I got this email:
They finally sent feedback and it was something """"easy"""" to do. Just a tutorial! (Spoiler: it wasn't easy).
But after hours of work, my friends chatGPT, Gemini, Claude (via github copilot on VSC) and myself could make it! Of course this game was made with a ton of help of AI. Not gonna lie it was frustrating sometimes when I decided to use AI for stuff I could do myself and the AI messed it up, or when it was something I couldn't do myself and the AI messed it all up even more. Still the AI helped me A LOT, the development of this game on my own would have taken me so much longer...
About the art and design
I also made the art for the game with AI, using Bing with Dall-e 3. I love this platform for this kind of projects since it gives 4 outputs in good resolution and if you have the right prompt you also get consistency on style.
And for the UI/UX design, well I am a designer so it was 100% me deciding colors, proportions, etc.
Finally
And oh well, finally, last night at 1:16am I got the email from crazygames saying they had accepted my game for basic launch!
The thing about being on Basic Launch, means it still can't be monetized yet and also is on test on the market. They will evaluate if people like it enough so we will continue to full launch or not.
So here is when I ask you to try the game, play a little and if you like it, please give a 👍!! 🎮 Play Capybara Solitaire here! It also would be a ton of help if you make an account on crazygames, but you can play without it.
Thanks so much for reading and I hope you like my game :) if you want more details on any part of the process or the project itself, let me know in the comments below.
Special mention to Gemini for making my chibi character for this post.

I played your Capybara Solitaire game!
Easy to play and I love the art. I'm not good at solitaire so I didn't get all the cards in the right spots but it was still nice to play.
I gave you a 👍
Good Job!

I don't know if you know, but I have games too. If I ever have a budget to pay someone for art and/or UI or programming help, I would consider hiring you! :)
Thanks so much!!! 🤗
