Tonight the sad news came that Eddie van Halen had passed away. He suffered throat cancer and died of that terrible disease.
He was the co-founder, together with his brother, of one of the most succesfull bands ever, Van Halen. The have dutch roots and moved to the states with their parents when they were about 7 years.
For a whole generation Van Halen was a important and influencial band...
He will be missed.

He did change guitar and influence many. A special player and a sad loss.
He did Steve, he was indeed special and meant a lot to modern music, rock....
I was driving home from work yesterday when my wife told me this. I didn't believe her at first. I didn't realize he had been battling cancer. I about had to pull the car over I was so sad. This really sucks!
This sucks indeed. A great musician, and a great guy...
