I failed big time yesterday, and I have to take accountability for that. After all, that's the entire point of these accountability lists, isn't it? Figuring out what went wrong.

The timing was spectacular, really. Not 15 minutes after I created yesterday's post, we received a phone call detailing some not-very-good results for the family member who became sick, which means more tests are going to be needed in the near future. We're going to be somewhat in the dark regarding the prognosis until that's finished (although it's still likely a good prognosis).
Immediately after this, my head started feeling "off" (this later turned into a mild headache). I lay down for a while and browsed stuff on my phone. That was an immediate failure of my phone and internet limits. It did destress me a bit, however.
A bit later, I helped my Mother with sorting through insurance plans for my family members for 2026. I love the USA, but the process of going through our healthcare system is a nightmare. Sorting through all of these options was such a pain in the ass, and we're still not done. We'd need to have a crystal ball to truly know which option is the best one. All of them screw the patient over in one way or another.
Anyway, I won't go on complaining about this... virtually nobody likes it anyway. It's preaching to the choir.
However, we were doing this until midnight. At that point, I deemed it rather late to do anything else but to have dinner and go to sleep. We ate and rested a bit, watching some television. That was about the only truly restful part of the day.
Hence, yesterday's list is going to be full of X's.
- Stay on my phone for less than 1 hour X
- Exercise X
- Stretch X
- Meditate X
- Draw or read an art history book X
- Get off the internet by 4:30 p.m. X
- Go to sleep by 12:30 a.m. X
- Watch a TV show or movie with my family ✓
That song of Meatloaf's, did he say 1 out 8 ain't bad? I sure hope so, because that's the only way I can justify such a failure!
Frankly, I could have done a few of these times, even very briefly, if I had the will. But, in all honesty, I did not have the will otherwise I would have done it.

Subsequently, I woke up late today and the rest of the day was thrown off. I'm still helping with some of the stuff that we did not complete researching yesterday, regarding insurance plans. While I did also complete necessary household chores, I haven't done much else "productive." I'm convincing myself to let go of that so I can move on with my day.
Now, it's definitely too late for me to go get glasses today. We'll go for that tomorrow instead, no matter what.
So I'll reset my goals for today.
- Stay on my phone for less than 1 hour
- Exercise
- Stretch
- Meditate
- Draw or read an art history book
- Get off the internet by 5:00 p.m.
- Go to sleep by 12:30 a.m.
- Watch a TV show or movie with my family

After all, a failure yesterday does not mean a failure today. Let's go for it.
