The ink well poetry challenge /Unforgettable memories

in The Ink Well4 years ago (edited)

It never ceases to fade away.
Years over years had passed,
But it seemed like yesterday.
As I tried to forget the past.

Only to dine and wine in sorrow

After you had joined your ancestors.
All I could do was trading in daily sorrow
And hoped you met creature in his glorious posture.
As your picture hang on the wall of our room
For remembrance still torment us.

For the love you had for your kids.
You kept lingering around the compound.
It was frightening as death itself.
You need to stop reappearing,
Not even in dream.

Got the messages that you wanted to stay around protecting your kids,
But you couldn't do that anymore.
You need to stop reappearing.

If you a poet or fiction writer and care to participate in the challenge. Here is the link to the original post

A very particular way of assuming the theme of the ghost, from the death and appearance of a loved one (mother, perhaps?). The text is loaded with eloquent verbal images. Greetings, @adeyemidrey.
