When you are there! (Poetry)

in The Ink Well4 years ago

When you are lucky to be there.
Remember the hands that take you there.
Never be sure you'll be long there,
For your post is no birthright.
So do your best,
When you are still there.

When you're lucky to be there.
Think of those down there,
For those down below;
For those that put you there;
Can by your stupidity bring you down.

When you are lucky to be there
Live above board;
For many eyes are watching you there,
As it isn't easy to fault when on board.

When you're lucky to be there
Never be unwise and imprudent,
To the masses that
For it's glorious to be up there,
But unpalatable to fall from grace to grass.

When you are opportune to serve,
Don't wield power like a greatest dictatorship.
Don't use power as someone devouring yam with mighty strength.

You are call to serve millions of head,
Don't let it enter your head and swerve from the service you are called.
Remember, you shall one day leave the office,
What speak, henceforth, is not undiluted attitude when you assumed duties.
Rather, the seed you sow after you long gone.

Use your head, think of when you are craving for people attention,
Before you are selected and elected;
To the pinnacles of power and authority
