I read this with the eyes of a much older person, someone who regards life mostly through the rear view mirror.

adventure always calls for a rejection of the present

My response is subjective, not objective. I see an appetite to consume without leaving a trace. To consume for the purpose of consumption and nothing more

Like a child building a castle on the sand, only because he can, and then destroy it, for the same reason

It seems the freedom claimed is not so free after all, but is tied to this one ambition, one desire:

And I promise I will build the most beautiful castle. And you will reconsider.

Whenever I see a subjective, I feel a weird satisfaction. I love writing stories that leave different impressions with different people with different experiences.
