When Elena fled to the mountains, she thought she’d left Ethan Blackwood and the dangerous pull he had over her behind. But you can’t outrun an alpha’s claim and you can’t hide from a bond that refuses to break.

THE ALPHA'S CLAIM

Rain hammered against the cabin windows but Elena barely noticed. She would come to the mountains to escape her past, her mistakes and the man she could never forget.

The door slammed.

He was there. Ethan Blackwood. Six foot three of raw dominance, water dripping from his dark hair, eyes burning gold in the dim light.

"You shouldn't have run," he growled, stepping inside. The air itself seemed to shrink around him.

Elena’s heart pounded. "You had no right to"

"I have every right." His voice was low, dangerous. "You are mine."

Memories flooded her, the heat of his hands, the way his presence filled a room and claimed her without asking. She would left because loving an alpha like Ethan meant surrendering. And surrender terrified her.

But now, this close, she couldn’t deny the pull.

He closed the distance, his scent, cedar and rain, curling around her senses. "I’ll chase you as many times as it takes," he murmured. "The bond doesn’t break just because you are scared."

Her breath caught. One more step and her back met the wall, his body shielding her from the storm outside.

"You are not here to claim me," she whispered, half plea, half dare.

A slow, wicked smile curved his lips. "No, Elena. I’m here to remind you you have been mine since the moment we met."
