Down the Aisle

I do, Simi said smiling. Claps echoed from all corners of the place , Simi was finally getting married to Tunde—a dream come true.

It was a lovely journey that began in an unexpected place—the BOZ Jewellery Store.

Tunde met Simi at a Jewellery store while she was shopping for gold accessories and that was where their love story began. Simi kept picking up and dropping different jewellery pieces confused about the exact one to purchase, I think this will suit you really well . She looked at him with a serious face, How do you know that? , I just do , he replied.
At the time Simi was struggling to heal from a traumatic relationship, so she was defensive; she didn’t listen to him, she picked something else instead and left almost immediately.

Weeks had passed and she was already going about her normal routine , Mom’s birthday is coming up next week, what gift do I get her? She mumbled to herself as she picked up her phone and began browsing an online store that curated unique gifts, luckily she saw a gift package her mom would like and paid for it.

Simi’s mother was the social type while her daughter, Simi was the composite opposite, her mom never missed organizing a birthday party each year no matter how small.
This year’s birthday celebration was even bigger than the previous years, You know I won’t take NO for an answer, you must attend. Her mother said over the phone.

She agreed without intense persuasion from her mother, she wanted to finally be herself again, she wanted to be around people, it was starting to feel like she was getting her spark back.

The birthday party was held in a private, luxury dining room—the lights were warm and inviting, with mellow music playing in the background, private banquet tables, wine and champagne, the room smelled of elegance and sophistication. As she walked in, her mom screamed out in excitement; My baby is here! and pulled her into a tight, warm hug.
Simi exchanged greetings with her mom’s friends and acquaintances and that was when she saw someone oddly familiar—it was the man from the jewellery store, chatting and laughing with one of her cousins like they had known each other for decades.
He noticed her too and walked up to her grinning, A good evening to the girl who didn’t like my jewellery taste , he teased.

Simi laughed out loud for the first time in weeks, You again? What are you doing here?

Our mothers are acquaintances, see? The world is a small one. He teased again.

My name is Tunde, can I know yours too?

I’m Simi. Her lips parted into a soft smile.

They talked all through the night, she spoke freely and calmly without feeling pressured, Tunde just listened attentively , he was happy to be there. Things became intense between them after some months, but that was when Simi’s past crept in.

One Saturday morning, Simi opened the door to a bouquet of flowers and a card from Tunde. I don’t know if this is too sudden, but there’s something I’ve been wanting to say to you for a while now. I feel whole and happiest whenever I’m with you, you bring out the absolute best in me, I can’t put into words how much you mean to me. I promise to make you the happiest and treat you like the queen you are, please be my girlfriend. She kicked her feet in the air from excitement, she was ready to open up her heart again to love and its beauty.

She texted him, I accept your proposal and thank you for the flowers, they are beautiful. But her smile faded as another text popped up on her screen—a message from Jason, her ex , he was pleading for another chance claiming he had learned from his mistakes.
Her fingers lingered over her phone as she read Jason’s message over and over again, she stared at the lights in her room, What if he had truly changed? What if he really wanted to make things right again? Everyone deserves second chances right?…

She inhaled deeply and looked at the note and fresh-scented bouquet on her bed, that was when it hit her. Tunde made her feel understood, safe and deeply love and that was all the answer she needed.
She picked up her phone, calm and composed, deleted Jason’s message and number blocked his number—some chapters were best closed.

Eight months later, Tunde proposed to Simi surrounded by petals, cozy lights, loved ones and a ring from BOZ Jewellery Store.

They walked down the aisle with teary eyes, full hearts and dazzling smiles.

Simi said—I do and I will, a million times.

And sealed it with a kiss.

At times, when something good is about to happen, and when the new dawn is about to bring a new life, it's best not to hold on to the past. Most ladies that I know these days would end up going back to Jason, saying that a well known devil is better than an unknown Angel.

Thank God Simi, moved on knowing that it's a new chapter of her life and she deserves to be happy.

Happy married life to Tunde and his beloved wife 🥰🥂

Exes and their problems 🙄

So many people like Simi, after suffering from past relationships, they find it hard to love again but I’m happy that she’s ending it all with Tunde
I wish them a happy married life

Simi did make the right choice cause even if I were to be in her shoes I'd do the same.
