Setting: 40 years after man transcended 4th-dimensional reality, harnessing the power of mythical relics and manuscripts.
The world is been ravaged by an extinction-level disaster, "The grail sickness", as many would call it; the rejection of the body by the soul, a fall into a coma followed by gradual mortal decay. The answer to man's predicament is kept secret for personal gains as she slowly treads the path to extinction, in the words of a great scholar;
"the alarm sounds only when it is too late"- Steven-Howl.
Professor Eizen-howl: “…I would like to conclude by saying that our intentions are mare perceptions or inceptions of an intangible effect, a fantasy. They are a “yet to be” reality, and yet can cause a lot of harm to us, and those we love, but that is not a cue for us to do nothing. We can either take a step and bear the consequence, or do nothing and still face the consequences. To that light, I propose that we initiate project Tabernacle”. Raising his voice amidst the growing noise, “it’s the only way to ensure the survival of our species at a time like this”.
World council member 1: "you are suggesting we follow this plan of yours, sacrificing two teenagers' lives to fuel this warp technique of yours and put the entire humankind in your hands, that it would what? Reattach…"(cut off)
Professor Eizen-howl:” it would freeze the structure of our world, keep the soul and body as one, and save us all*.
World council member2: “as the last of your kin, I find it a difficult thing to agree to that”.
World council member 3: “Do these kids even know about this plan of yours”?
Senior council member: turns to the teenage pair, ”do you want to be in a state of hypnosis for an eternity?”, The teens both wave their heads to the sides comically.
Senior council member: turning to the professor, ”I am disappointed in what you have become old friend”.
Professor Eizen-howl: upset and slightly out of composure, “you knew this was going to happen from the very moment you decided to alter universal biology with the Titanus crystal! The mage warned you, and yet you didn’t listen…” interrupted
Senior Council member: “…I made my decisions for the good of mankind, and those decisions have seen us thrive to this day. I understand the situation before us but there must be another way”.
Professor Eizen-howl: with audacity, “there is no other way. The binding force that keeps a higher species is that of the 6th dimension which is that of love and only one case of true love exists in this land, that which is before us"; pointing at the young soul mates, "Only by harnessing this limitless potential energy can we fuel Tabernacle and keep our kind from fading out of existence".
World council member 3: “I’ve had enough of this nonsense, take him away and put him in detention”.
Parliament military guards storm into the round table meeting to apprehend the defaulter. Eizen-howl pulls out a dice from his long gray coat and tosses it into the air. A soldier in desperation dives and catches the object before it could land on the floor, while the rest grab the suspect.
Senior council member: “good, don’t let him near the dice”.
The appraised soldier stares around strangely before focusing on the senior council member who immediately becomes suspicious of her character. In a flash, the soldier bowls the dice to the apprehended professor before dropping a smoke grenade. The senior council member is the first to react, throwing his open fist toward Eizen-howl as if to project an object, but it was too late!
[Face-four; warped space altered sense!
It works by altering the sense of orientation, direction, and trajectory. Left motion becomes bottom, top-Right depending on the face of the dice facing upwards, even taking a step becomes difficult because moving your legs forward could mean moving them backward. With one face facing up, no change in orientation will occur]
You do not slack off when you're dealing with a “Howl”, they are a family that has been at the head of research and development for over 4 centuries. A family that has been brought down to her last leg. Aggrieved by the loss of his kin during the last civil war, Eizen was also the leader of the “New era movement” a group whose members are bent on using any possible means to stop the plague.
A bundle of binding chains made of crystal blue energy projected from the senior council members' first wound around the chandelier hanging on the parliament ceiling.
Senior council member: yelling, “now!”. A disguised personnel at the table pulls out a rifle,
The senior council member knows the fugitive too well, they have a history, and a special rifle with a programmable guided round, capable of altering its tracking code was the choice to counter the professor's plans.
Swooshhh! The bullet flew through the air seemingly unaffected by the professor’s powers. The unidentified female soldier makes a dive and intercepts the projectile, taking a hit to the chest.
The smoke disappears revealing some soldiers lying on the floor unconscious as two rebels, disguised as soldiers rush to the teenagers.
There is a moment of calm as professor Eizen-howl runs to the downed soldier and takes off her helmet revealing her true identity.
Senior council member: in shock, “it can’t be!”, The worst had befallen him, “Diana!” he screamed as he rushed to the dying soldier. Just as he reaches her, she takes her last breath.
The two soldiers with the teens look at each other before one gives a nod, they let go of the duo and activate a teleportation device. As they warped in the beam of light, professor Eizen-howl says to himself: “our feelings become pure at the loss of what we truly love, there was another way my friend, I am sorry it had to be you”.
