Ella was excited and nervous at the same time, her final exam as a medical student was just two days away and it was one of her favorite courses but she did not want to take any chances.
She studied as hard as she did for the harder courses because as a medical student in her school if you fail any course it means an automatic extra year would be added which meant an extra year of more stress added to the previous five she had already spent so she wasn't taking any risks.
She was already emotionally, physically, financially and socially exhausted but it would all be worth it when she writes the final exam in peace, she couldn't wait.
She made sure to cover every material related to the course and a day to the exam she had covered everything and was now getting a much needed rest.
Her roommates Sarah and Vivian burst into the room immediately she fell asleep, they were also final year students and they had finished their final papers.
Ella girl!!!!
Sarah screamed, she rushed Ella's bed and shook her aggressively until she woke up.
Hey girl's, congratulations!
She said tiredly
Thank you dear, now go and freshen up
Vivian said with a big smile on her face
Freshen up?? For what?
Ella asked
We are going to a party of course, we have to celebrate!
Sarah said
You girls know that i have my own final exams tomorrow, i can't go to any party till i finish my exams.
Ella said with finality
We understand Ella but it's just for a few hours andd you have already covered every so you're good to go.
Vivian said
You've literally read your books to exhaustion, just take a few hours off and have fun.
It took a while to convince her to go and Ella actually needed this to clear her head for the next day.
They went to the party by 6, it was a very lit party filled with loud music, dancing, alcohol and food.
Ella was not normally the party type but when she saw that everybody was having fun she decided to join in too.
She danced around with other people for a while then she ate some food and drank a lot of alcohol, the party lasted till midnight and when it was over Ella was drunk to stupor.
She looked around for her roommates but they were nowhere to be found, she managed to stumble her way to their room and as soon as she lay on her bed she slept off.
She woke up the next morning with a banging headache and she was already late for her exams, she was still a but drunk and occasionally fell as she rushed to get to her exam venue, she did not freshen up nor change her clothes.
Fortunately for her the invigilators let her in because she gave a very good excuse, she sat down in a free chair and when she looked at her paper it looked unintelligible.
The questions were very easy but she struggled to remember the answers because of the banging headache and after a few hours it was time to submit, she had no choice but to submit with the others even though she did not write anything.
She wanted to beg the invigilator to allow to give her more time but it would have been a fruitless attempt so she accepted her fate.
She ignored her other course mates who were happy and in a celebratory mood, she took a shuttle back to her room and immediately she opened the door the hot tears she had been holding feel freely from her face.
She lay face down on her bed and a fee seconds later her bed was soaked with her tears, her roommates immediately understood what had happened, they felt extremely guilty even though they meant no harm.
Ella had to retake that paper the next year and fortunately she passed, even though she had already forgiven her roommate since because she knew that they were just looking after her, she promised herself that she would never make such silly mistakes again.
Your description of his student is convincing, @emeka002. She is motivated and successful. Unfortunately she makes a really bad decision and pays a heavy penalty. At least she gets another chance in the following year.
