What You Touch

in The Ink Well3 years ago

Life can be pretty much strange some of the times. You have good intentions, yet you touch something and it goes away from you. What you touch does not stay with you forever. What you touch is not yours.

You look at other people. You look at how they touch yet they call it theirs. You look at others how they touch, they make the bond. You look at others how they touch, it stays deep in the heart of others.

What you touch however is often forgotten. What you touch does not even touch the heart. What you touch turns away from you without forming the bond. And you think touching it would calm you. But that is not the case.

You touch to find the peace. You don't find peace but it turns into chaos. You touch in the hope of happiness yet it turns into chaos. What you touch has a fire that people can't stand. Your touch is like kryptonite for the world.

You feel like touching the innocent. It turns into cunning. You touch the cunning it turns on you. You touch the happiness, it turns into depression. You touch in the hop of things changing for you. It does not let you stay.

You want to be loved so you touch. You meet the sadness. You meet the anxiety when you touch. You can't define what it feels when you touch.

Then you question, should you touch this world, this person, this life?

You touch anyway.

This is a thoughtful, thought-provoking essay. However, the Ink Well only curates short stories.

You have a persuasive voice. We'd love to hear that voice in the future if you write a short story for the community!

The action of being rejected is somewhat fatalistic and extremist. Poetic prose that explores the interior of a person with a very dark vision of what surrounds him.
