"Kaya! Look! The tomatoes and pumpkins we planted have grown! Come here quickly!” from the right corner of the garden behind the house, Miss Claree shouted for her youngest daughter.

That girl is Kaya, black hair, red lips, fair skin and brown eyes. She took a deep breath and ran to her mother. They pick the vegetables they had planted in recent years because of the high cost of food in the market.

Their family is a simple and affluent family. Their consists of Miss Claree the mother and her daughters Mina, Roa and Kaya. Their father had died 2 years ago due to a vicious fever and hardly digest a food.

Out of all her daughters. Kaya is the most obedient girl and always helps out with household chores as well as garden work. She never even contradicts her mother's orders and will always love her mother forever. In contrast to Mina and Roa who were always lazing around at home. they always disobey their mother's orders and are reluctant to do the housework.

One day Kaya witnessed a sight she did not want to see. The atmosphere of the twilight and the gentle breeze were suddenly destroyed by the sound of shouting from the garden. Heading towards the source of that screams, Kaya couldn't hold her breath as she saw the tomatoes, chillies and ginger strewn across the ground, and beside it all, Miss Claree had fallen down with complete loss of consciousness.

They called a doctor from the city to check on their mother. “This is bad! Your mother is stricken with a deadly disease, you must find a cure immediately! Otherwise, your mother's life will be in danger!” the doctor is concerned about Miss Claree's condition.

"Where can I find the medicine, sir?" Kaya wondered worriedly as her heart was beating very fast.

“That is something that neither you nor I would be able to handle!”

Everyone is confused. "Doctor what do you mean?"

"The antidote that can cure your mother is a Milicope leaf, that leaf grows in a cave at the top of the southern mountain which is inhabited by a giant ferocious dragon who is ready to eat anything if anyone dares to enter the cave where he lives."
Suddenly Mina, Roa and Kaya were surprised to hear it all. Feelings of fear, anxiety and frustration filled their heads.

“A dragon that will eat anything?! I'm not going there!”

“I wouldn't dare go in there either! I will not waste my youth to deal with a ferocious dragon!”

Mina and Roa lost their hope for saving their mother. But Kaya beside them raised her voice. "I will looking for that leaf, I will save mother no matter what!"

After steeling her guts, Kaya departed that very afternoon. That girl entered the forest, followed the valley and climbed the mountain peak with courage and the belief that she would save her mother. Upon arriving in front of the cave, Kaya was attacked by an extraordinary feeling of fear, she saw how dark and cold the atmosphere around the cave was. But she must be brave for her mother.

When come inside, the giant dragon suddenly came over to Kaya.

"Greetings, O great dragon, I'm not here to disturb you and your peace, I'm only here to get Milicope leaves to cure a malignant disease that attacked my mother" Kaya bowed down before the dragon with goosebumps.

"I will give you that leaf, but I have a condition that you must fulfill!" Kaya was surprised to find that the dragon in front of her could speak like a human being.

"What is it, O great dragon?"

"After your mother recovers, you must stay here forever and be my wife!"

Kaya was very surprised by the dragon's statement but this was not the time to hesitate. Her mother's life is now being threatened and only Kaya is the only hope. "I'm ready on that condition!" she said it out loud

After getting some of the Milicope leaves, Kaya immediately went home and brewed the leaves with warm water. After Miss Claree drank it, she was allowed to sleep until the next morning.

How shocked Kaya, Mina and Roa were when they saw their mother back to health the next day without seeing any signs of the illness she had experienced. “Thank you Kaya, you have saved my life!” everyone was happy then but Kaya was not as happy as she seemed. She immediately recounted all the events she had experienced when she bravely entered the forest, met a giant dragon and how the dragon intend to married Kaya as his wife.

"I know this is hard for you, go meet that dragon, show your respect and serve him wholeheartedly, I believe you can get through all of this!" Miss Claree gave her youngest girl permission to go meet the dragon. The sadness caused by parting with her family finally made Kaya unable to stop shedding tears while on the trip. She believes that it is her destiny to become the wife of a giant dragon.

When Kaya reached the cave where the dragon nested, she found nothing. She went deeper into the cave and was surprised to find a handsome and dashing man standing in front of her.

"Thank you for coming and trusting me Kaya" the man gave a warm smile that Kaya will never forget.

"Who are you and what are you doing here?"

“I am the dragon that inhabits this cave. I used to be the king of a southern country, but three years ago I was cursed to become a dragon by my own uncle because he wanted my throne as the country's leader. The curse will disappear if there is a human who is willing to accept me as I am without any fear and anxiety towards me. And you are the one who accepted me with a full trust, you have my thanks for that”

After hearing that statement from the king. Kaya finally understood that believing in yourself will give you many things that will change your life. The king and Kaya finally officially became husband and wife and started building the southern country again after his uncle was arrested for all his already done.

@faitz007 Wow wow, your story reminded me of my childhood, exactly similar to stories our grandmothers and mothers used to tell us, at the end of which any demon, snake, dragon, or bird was transformed into that form by a magician or by someone's curse. Used to be in me, and some of the other fixes was done to free it from its changed form. Still, Kaya's bravery is admirable.
Please comply the instructions of @theinkwell.
