Dr Jacob Brian conducts research on objects of historical importance, forts, and ancient heritage in the Department of Archaeology and he is also the head of the Antiquities Research Team in this department.

Due to this duty, he often had to examine and maintain old forts, ancient buildings, and antiquities from excavations in the fields. This investigative instinct and research have made him quite a cynical nature, now he never talks politely to his colleagues, and always talks in a stern or jittery manner, but in this team department Being the head, everyone has understood his habit and makes fun of his behaviour behind his back.

Along with this investigative team, sometimes scholar students of the university also join them and help in their investigative work and they get information about the old history.

Recently, Dr Brian had received news that in a small town in a rural area, some labourers had found some coins and bones of historical importance in the excavation of an old house, but the owner of that house took coins from the labourers and excavated them. and then secretly getting it excavated, so that the government would not get any news about these coins and objects of historical importance.

But one of those labourers had gone and informed the police and then the news reached the department through the police.

The police had taken possession of that place and sealed it and placed the owner of that house and the secret diggers under house arrest at one place.

As soon as the information was received, Dr Brian arrived with his team to inspect the place the next morning at 10 o clock, after doing a preliminary inspection for some time, he decided to camp there with his team, there was no hotel or accommodation nearby, so he With the members of his team, took shelter of the guest house of the head of the town, this guest house was also built in a completely deserted place outside the town, there was no proper arrangement of lighting in it, the whole guest house looked absolutely haunted.

But being with the whole team they didn't feel like much desolation there. There were 4 university students also in the team, including 2 girls, there was a total team of 10 people, so first of all arrangements were made for beds for sleeping and food to eat.

There was also a cook in the team, and that cook prepared the lunch with the help of the girls.

All the team members decided to re-examine and dig up the site after the meal. The work was done till 5 pm that day and they reached back to the guest house.

The first incident happened in the night, when he was sleeping, some strange sounds came, as if someone was walking, some flute-like sound was coming out, the eyes of the team members were opened and then they remained awake all night in fear. In the morning he saw that some of his belongings were painted red, and a warning was written on one of the walls, go away from here or you will be killed.

Everyone except Dr Brian was very scared, he immediately called the local police and ordered that a contingent of police should be deployed here. The team members thought it was a ghostly act, but Dr Brian knew that such tactics were always used by the local people.

By 11 o'clock in the morning, everyone got ready and reached the site again and started the investigation afresh.

By looking closely at the material that came out of the excavation, it was known that this material was at least 500-600 years old or more. Dr Brian's team got the news the same night that one of the labourers who had excavated the goods in the past, died, his body had red rashes before dying. Then he got vomited and he died.

On hearing the news of this death, the four students of the university fled from there at night. Now only 6 people are left.

Dr Brian called for the postmortem report of that labourer and read it, it was clearly written in it that the deceased had an infection of some object, possibly these labourers must have touched such old stuff without wearing gloves etc. and it is natural that bones etc. were also found and there could be an infection in them. So he assured his team members that this is not a ghost action. These are all scientific reasons.

The next morning again they all got busy digging and as the digging continued, many amazing things and constructions were seen from there, it seemed that in some old times the people there had made this place for women to hide. Maybe when there were foreign invasions, people would have built such dungeons to keep their valuables and women safe.

The materials received from there were sent for carbon dating and lab tests, all those bones and materials were found to be more than 800 years old, all the items were sent to the National Museum, and government control was taken over that place.

After many days of this incident, one day Dr Brian was talking to a friend while referring to this whole incident I also felt that there was some ghostly interference in that place, on which the friend said I can’t believe that you said that'. Because Dr Brian, you have been a very settled experienced archaeologist and you must have been dealing with such incidents for the rest of your life.

Dr Brain said, my dear friend, any supernatural incidents cannot be ruled out, but I did not want to let the morale of my team fall at that time.

Having said this, Dr Brain ended with a meaningful smile on his face.

The finding of an archaeological wealth is joined, in the imagination, to the legends about the curses that will fall on whoever carries out the excavation . The same seems to be happening in your story, @fantom22.
Thanks for the interactions qwith the other writers.

@theinkwell Thanks for your appreciation and for reading the story.

Heya fantom; I enjoyed how you set up the good Dr as a methodical and scientifically minded fellow, to use the prompt in turn to morph him into something a little bit less reasoned. I reckon any curse or supernatural event seems a reasonable thing to conclude (although, I'm not scientifically minded). You're got my vote!

@lordtimoty Thank you, sir, as I know you are a very settled writer, and many of your stories have been awarded, thank you so much for reading my story so closely and for voting for me.
your fan.

Sometimes science doesn't have an explanation for everything especially when it comes to the supernatural.

Thank You, Stella actually I don't trust supernatural things so I used a doubt of the head of the team but he was not sure that these things were due to supernatural. This was the story's demand to create some suspense.

Suspense was well achieved.

This is well-composed @fantom22. Seeing a strange thing at the ancient location is indispensable because many things are happening that we could not hear but it happens. Please continue with a good job!

Thank You very much for reading and commenting @raymondpeter

The terror they woke up to in the morning was really spooky! You gave me the willies haha 😂

I am glad he was able to hold it together for the sake of his team, if only I had that kind of resolve! Thanks for sharing :)

@grindan Surely you must have that courage and determination because just now I have seen that you have a dimple on your cheek, it is a symbol that you are a soft, courageous and determined girl.
Thanks for the comment. I like this and you too.
