Marry was a careless lady. She was used to do everything in haste and without caring about the outcome. Several times she experienced a great lose due to her negligence and absent-mindedness. But her husband was a responsible person, and he was considered to be a liable person of his family. The good thing about him was that, he never complained his wife and always handled her stupidly with great patience.
She burned her husband's important documents, threw her son's phone in the washing machine while she was washing his jacket. Once she also lose her purse with $ 2000 in it. In short, there were so many things which she ruined or lost due to her negligence. But not a single experience could ever brought a sense of responsibility in her.
One day, she woke up as usual, and finished her households. It was really cold outside, and she was trembling. She decided to set a fire with sticks to get some warm. So she get a match and burn some woods to get some comfort in this wintry weather. Her husband was not at home, and children were also in school.
After a while she decided to press her husband's clothes which he would be going to wear in the evening at his friend's wedding. So she immediately started to iron her husband's clothes but forgot to extinguish the fire which she burned to get comfort.
When she was ironing the clothes, she felt something unpleasant. It the was smell of the food which she forgot on the stove almost a hour ago. She rushed in the kitchen, but the food was completely burnt now. She was saddened but nothing could be done, as it was due to her careless behaviour, but she was not ready to bring change in her and was used to bear several loses everyday. So she decided to cook something else for lunch.
In the meanwhile she heard the igniting of fire and she rushed in the room where she burned the fire. But everything gone up in smoke and she was not able to see anything. Soon she called the fire brigade and they rescued the house to blaze out completely.
A huge crowd was gathered there, and Marry was not in her senses at the moment. The fire which she burned to get the comfort, became the reason of a huge loss due to her reckless behaviour.

Marry must be addicted to this careless attitude of hers, people change after bearing loss in different events but she chooses not to have learned any lesson, and it backfired.
You mentioned that food left on the stove got rotten, I guess you meant to say burnt. I will advise you to use Grammarly to edit your article to correct mistakes
