I felt I was trapped in Doris's mind. It had to be hard to be there handling so many things at once haha. I really enjoyed the whole weird mood of the story. It made me think whatever thing could happen at any time.

Thank you, @gabmr! I was sort or poking fun at myself in this story. When I wrote it originally, years ago, it was 3500+ words long. We had just returned from Vegas and a side trip to Pahrump. On the trip I gave my husband trouble because one of the roads ran into the mountains and I made him turn around. I am terrified of roads that run along cliffs. I exaggerated, obviously, but Doris is portrayed with sympathy, because I get it, not being able to control that fear.
It was great fun writing this...I hope the humor is also evident.
