"She must be the girl so much talked about, beauty with brains huh?" Soma winked mischievously at the others. The boys chattered as Treasure walked into the dining hall. She was the newest student of "Royal Academy Group Of Schools". The fifteen year old Senior secondary school two (SSS2) student was already creating ripples with her academic exploits, even though she resumed a month after the term started, and had missed out on some classes.
She really was very smashing!!! The boys agreed!
The best student in the class until Treasure came along, was Thelma. She started seeing Treasure as a rival and distanced herself from her, But things became messier when she discovered that her crush, Soma, was crushing on Treasure.
"She can't just come in here and take everything from me, no, I won't let that happen!" Thelma fumed in anger as she confided in her friend, Bona.
"But what can you do about it? Soma had never looked your way in spite of your subtle overtures, but he seemed not able to take his eyes off Treasure." Bona declared.
This infuriated Thelma the more as she stormed out of the empty classroom.
Soma—the brainy, smart, social student as well as the school captain who stood out in every crowd. He was a perfect mix of charisma, intelligence and leadership, every young woman's dream.
Dinner serving began at six pm (6:00pm) at the school's dining hall and Treasure had gone with her mates as usual to queue up for their food. She collected hers and immediately went to her seat to devour the food.
"Hi beautiful"….. She almost choked on her food as a familiar voice wafted across.
"Why would someone add beautiful to my name, in a public place like this? Wait, this voice does sound familiar." She raised her head and behold it was Soma, taking a seat right in front of her. She was embarrassed.
"You know my name?" Treasure asked, surprised.
"Is there anyone in this school, who doesn’t know your name?" Soma replied as he threw a piece of meat into his mouth.
"I'm surprised you do!" She said shyly.
"Why?" Soma asked chuckling, seemingly happy that she was blushing.
"Can we please talk after dinner? I have something very important to tell you."
"Something important? Can’t you say it now?" Treasure asked.
"No please, I wouldn’t want you to choke on your food. Besides, it's private. See ya later" Soma smiled as he stood up and walked away.
Treasure's heart couldn't stop beating, he affected her more than she was willing to acknowledge.
When they met after dinner, Soma confessed his feelings to Treasure. This came as a shock to her, she couldn’t believe that this guy who had stolen her heart from the start, was right in front of her, confessing his love too. It was indeed a dream come true, but she still needed time to think about it.
This was the first time for Treasure, she was a scaredy cat when it came to love, she had heard of how hearts got broken by someone who they love, but after sleeping on it several days, she concluded that she would give love a chance.
So started a relationship no one knew would last for a lifetime. Soma and Treasure loved each other dearly and it was a love that blossomed every day.
After they graduated, it was time to move on to college. Soma got admitted into the university, while Treasure moved to another country with her parents. The long distance tested their love and stretched their resolve. Regardless, their love stood tall, strong.
"Soma, I saw this diary as I was cleaning up your wardrobe” his mother said handing over a red-cover diary to him.
"Oh thank you Mom." Soma took the diary and flipped through, this contained love letters from his Love, Treasure and some pictures they took together way back in the early years of their relationship. He was filled with nostalgia and couldn't wait to see her again, after twelve months....
During their final year in the university, they had both agreed to focus on their studies, and not travel the long distance that seperated them, like they did years before. Now they were through with their final exams, he couldn't wait to see her again, hold her in his arms once again and then pop the big question..... He smiled and impatiently waited for the next week to come.
It was their sixth anniversary and Soma had travelled to spend time together with Treasure, it was there he popped the big question!
"Fate has brought us together as one, I want to spend the rest of my life with you, growing old with you". He held her hands as he knelt before her.
Treasure was overjoyed as tears of happiness trickled down her face.
"You should have done this a long time ago." She jokingly told him as he slipped the engagement ring onto her finger.
"It's never late you know." He said looking deeply into her eyes as he gathered her into his arms.
The Moon and the stars witnessed the fusion of two hearts in a long long kiss.
