A Good Life Before Diaster Strikes

Jimmy was the only surviving child of his parents and they treated him like a prized jewel. Jimmy had access to the best of everything, the best toys as a kid, clothes, electronic gadgets, food and drink, all crowned by the eternal and unending love of his parents. The household lived in utter affluence for 27 years until disaster decided to pay their home a visit, and it did in a heartwrenching manner.

First of all Jimmy's father's company, Evik, that produced computer software and hardware liquidated and folded. And then Jimmy's mum fell sick.
Jimmy got the news of the financial downturn that hit the family when his dad returned home, one day sullen and a shadow of himself. Days later Jimmy heard the news, when his dad called him to his room.

Even though Jimmy knew it meant the end of all the good things he had always had access to still he sought for words to relieved his father's heavy-heartedness.

"It will be alright Dad. I believe it will, and please don't allow the sorrow of the loss or the change in our fortunes to weigh you down. We still need you alive, I and mum, your presence and love means more to us than all the money in the world. Be strong, dad, we will pull out of this mess."  And the 14 year old gave his heartbroken father a bear hug.

Mr. Peters replied his son with a heartfelt "Thanks for the kind words and the encouragement, son. It has always been a joy o have you."  And afterward sent his son for a bottle of wine. He wanted to brood on the situation over the tasty, heavenly liquid.

More Diaster

Weeks and months passed yet no welcome change to the situation of the Peters' household occurred. Mr Peters now worked at odd jobs to ensure the survival of his family. And then Mrs Peters fell under the affliction of a terminal illness. Jimmy had to leave school to take care of his mum.

Over the time, while all these happened, Jimmy did brood extensively on the big mess that was his life. Not much talked about was the shame that clouded his face whenever he met his friends who knew of the former glorious status of his family. Most of them were now better off, and some treated him like a plague. Still Jimmy refused to fall under the weight of his misery.

Then his mum died. And not long after his Dad also passed away from the heartbreak and he was all left alone. To think that he had thought he was in a bad case when his father lost his company and mum fell ill! The situation then was heavenly compared to now.
He kept himself alive, barely, by doing some jobs that paid out fairly well, and then soon went back to school.

The Miraculous Resolution Of A Messy Situation

One day, while Jimmy was searching through the old library of his dad,- and while he did, the sorrowful nostalgia threatened to choke him with tears- something interesting happened.
It was, as it happened, a debt that a cabinet minister owned his father's company for a project he did for him years ago, and that was the installment of computers in series of complexes that served as offices. The payment wasn't made at the time because of a hitch the office of the minister encountered at the time and it was postponed to a later date. But Mr Peters died before the day came and he forgot to tell his son before his demise.

A substantial amount of time passed before Jimmy got through to the Minister's office, and got the payment, - which amounted to some 25 million US dollars- and changed his status.
With this newfound and blissful financial status, Jimmy turned his life around. He reacquired his father's old company, and from thenceforth flourished to immense affluence and greatness.

He was out of the mess that had been his life, though not completely. The hardtimes that befell his family had claimed the lives of his parents. How he sobbed like a child when he was going through his parents photo albums! He couldn't get his parents back, they were dead already but then he would compensate the situation with the determination that he would do everything he would so his own children would never encounter the calamity that befell him while his parents yet lived.

End Of Story.
