Cupid suspended

The science of affection has found a way
where love can be harmless , without arrows.
A sweet Violet will replace the Rose, pathetic, prickly.
The verb to love can be, now, only the word of care.

There has been much injury since Venus,
much guilt has been washed away with the blood.
The time has come: Cupid awake,
Now he grows, he will no longer be an armed unconscious.

He will throw away his arrows of gold and lead.
Nymphs can walk without fear through the bush.

Lovers deserve a sure wish,
a love without thorns, without puncture wounds.
A love that does not break, A way of loving without fuss ...
They still have to fight history.

Where the thorn can go in the future
the sages have placed a protective plate.
A harness of words, of answers, of kisses, of listening.
A language of skin, between caresses.

At last, humanity, happy, is revealed to me:
Cupid no longer flies, he has cut his wings. He stays.

Cupido suspendido

Permanece.

Thanks for comment,Cheers.

Very suggestive and hopeful your poem, @gracielaacevedo. Good subject to work on the image of the thorn. Greetings.

Thanks for the comment,
It doesn't hurt to wait ... a hug, @josemalavem.

Love, like most things formerly mystified, has certainly changed in its conception and praxis. Can't blame cupid for walking now. Hard times for flying desires these are.

I think the same thing happens with love as with childbirth:
are associated with pain.
It is the particular experience that must reject the association, breaking the myth.
