The uncertainty in the air can be felt as we read. As the soldiers ransack the village looking for rebels, they instill some more rebellion in the hearts of the people instead. The best physical evidence of the rebellion ends up being the mess on the floors of the residents, as the soldiers walk away. Well done :)
