Riverdess

Once upon a time in the ancient kingdom of Zorra, there existed an extremely powerful deity known as Gravarion, the god of Gravity. Gravarion was most respected in the City of Zorra because of his ability to control and twist the hands of gravitational forces. His presence kept the world of Zorra firmly rooted with the sense of balance in the existential life and edifice of the Zorreans.

In the ancient history of Zorra, the high priest of Zorra Enoch, was once quoted to say that,

"Gravarion created the very fabrics of the world which he shaped with his boundless powers of which no one, born of a woman or any other living creature, can dare to destroy"

Gravarion is responsible for the seasonal earthquake that happens in Zorra. It happens once out of average 15 years and many lives and properties are always destroyed. Sometimes after this earthquake, the city starts from scratch to build new structures, which perfectly defines the lack of growth in the City of Zorra. The high priest wouldn't say for sure but he believes that this is the very diabolic form to which Gravarion renews his powers seasonally. Gravarion never gives a sign and the people barely know when the earthquake would happen. Not even the prophets nor the scientists can predict.

Enoch is the oldest living human in Zorra haven lived for 277 years. He is the monk of the City. At the age of 30, the pure being of Enoch's instinct told him that a day will come when a pure being will emerge and defeat Gravarion. Enoch has kept this revelation only to himself for more than two centuries, reason being that he cannot fathom any other being that can literally convey enough powers to defeat the great Gravarion. Gravarion powers are absolute and no other being can come close in competition.

As the innermost pure beingness of Enoch already has it, destiny has other plans for the people of Zorra. But fate is and has always been blind to the visionary of human senses. Enoch, within his imagination, has kept a view that any being that must defeat Gravarion, must be a beast. Tall, huge and shapeless, hulky and can destroy the whole world with just trampling of his feets. In Enoch's mind, any being capable of defeating Gravarion will convey more powers to perpetuate a more hideous attack on the people of Zorra than Gravarion is doing. This coined the most used statement of Enoch,

"The Gravity you know but cannot contend with is far better than the Gravity you don't know neither can contend".

On Zorra's great market day which happens once in a month, the river of Zorra known as Riverdale, is specifically the abode of Gravarion. On that day, nobody goes to Riverdale's banks because anything that goes up on that river side on that day never comes down till extinction. But on this specific market day, a strike of light appeared to Enoch in his hunt where he was resting. His pure being of instinct told him to head straight to the Riverdale at once. He doubted his instinct but never disobeyed. He figured out perhaps this is how his time on earth would most likely come to an end.

On reaching the Riverdale, as hot as the afternoon, but the river banks were covered with mountain dews. Thick vapor of ice oozed out of the river and everywhere remained silent, not even the sound of breeze, nor the birdcalls. Riverdale seized it gurgling and babbling sounds that were always so loud that one can hear it from a distance away. The only voice that could be heard on the river was that of a child, who lay floating on the river, naked and crying at the top of a tiny beautiful voice.

Enoch drew close but was faced with a tough dilemma. "Should I pick the child up? If I do, what if the child keeps going up and never comes down again?"

Enoch picked up a stone, threw it up and it came down quickly. Enoch swiftly dived into the river and picked the infant. Her genitals showed a female. Enoch took off his robe and covered her nakedness at once then headed home carrying her carefully. The thought of what could possibly neutralize the power of Gravarion on the Riverdale on a day like this, was on Enoch's mind till they got home. If she can, then she must be special.

Enoch specifically nurtured and watched her grow. He names her Riverdess which signifies a river goddess of Riverdale. As Riverdess grew, she displayed a remarkable affinity to the control of three basic elements in existence, water, wind and air.

"She possesses the powers of the ancient", Enoch would seldomly tell himself anytime he looks at Riverdess.

As whispers of Riverdess's extraordinary abilities spread throughout Zorra, fear and uncertainty gripped the hearts of its inhabitants. For centuries, they had placed their faith in Gravarion, believing him to be invincible. But now, faced with the emergence of a new and unpredictable power, they questioned everything they had been taught.

"This could be the very much predicted ending of the world", the famous City provost Vado, declared to the City of Zorra.

This day was supposed to be the day of the earthquake. Gravarion had launched his powers to the City, but nothing seems to happen rather the forces from Gravarion move up in the Sky and form as a cloud. Riverdess was asleep while the cloud kept forming and darkening the City So much that the day turned into night. When she woke up, she summoned her inner strength and cleared the cloud at once. This action angered Gravarion bitterly.

"A mere mortal dares to challenge my authority?" boomed Gravarion's voice, echoing across the heavens, "She shall soon learn the folly of her defiance."

Gravarion caused a heavy wind that specifically came to Enoch's abode, picked up Riverdess and took her to the top of the Zorrean mountain. This mountain is said to be the everlasting abode of Gravarion in which no man or woman can ever reach.

"How dare you little thing challenge my reign?" Gravarion boomed "weren't you told that before you existed, i have reigned for more than 1000 years in the world?"

"I am not here to challenge you, Gravarion, I am here to set the people of Zorra free from the shackles of evil," Riverdess replied nicely.

"Oh! So you know my name? And how dare you call me by my name, don't you have respect for elders? hahahaha" Gravarion bemoaned in a sarcastic echoing laugh.

Riverdess was sweating all over her body at this point, fear gripped her mortal soul but she cautioned herself at once.

"I cannot let fear dictate my actions, For I am the bearer of destiny, and it is my duty to protect this world." she declared, her voice resonating with unwavering resolve.

She sat down and summoned her innermost spiritual self, played a pledge to the elements she had control over and asked them to step forward for a rumble. Air was present, fire was present but water was missing. This is because water and fire are two opposing forces and they could be at the advantage of Gravarion if present.

Their encounter was nothing short of cataclysmic, as the forces of gravity clashed with the ancient energies coursing through Riverdess's veins. Lightning crackled, and thunder roared as the two beings locked in a titanic struggle for supremacy.

"You cannot hope to defeat me, mortal!" thundered Gravarion, his voice echoing with the fury of a thousand storms, "My gravity is eternal, unyielding to the whims of fate."

"Your reign ends here, Gravion," she proclaimed, her voice echoing with the echoes of destiny, "For I am the one who will bring balance to this world." She further remarked.

And with those words, Riverdess unleashed her final attack, a surge of energy so profound that even the mighty Gravarion could not withstand its force. With a deafening roar, the god of gravity was vanquished, his indomitable power reduced to naught but dust and memories by the flap of fire and wind. The fire and wind dragged Gravarion to the middle of the great Riverdale, where Gravarion sank and was never found again!

With Gravarion's tyranny at an end, the people looked to Riverdess as their savior, a beacon of hope in a world once shrouded in darkness.

"The age of gods may have passed but the spirit of humanity endures, forever unyielding and forever free," declared Riverdess.

And so the city of Zorra defined the story of Riverdess as the child of destiny who defied the gods; a story that will be told for generations to come, a testament to the power of courage, perseverance, and the unbreakable bonds of fate.

Enoch was then branded the father of all nations of Zorra while Riverdess was revered as the absolute goddess.

Hi @hamez. Before we can curate your story, you must provide the missing image source fort the last image in the story.

Also, here are some tips for things you might want to fix.

In the following sentence, the word "phantom" should be "fathom." A phantom is a spirit. To "fathom" is to understand or perceive something.

Enoch has kept this revelation only to himself for more than two centuries, reason being that he cannot phantom any other being that can literally convey enough powers to defeat the great Gravarion.

And in the next sentence, "there" should be "dare." This is a common expression: "How dare you...?"

And how there you call me by my name, don't you have respect for elders?

All corrections has been duly effected, thank you @theinkwell
