The month of July was coming to an end and with it we were culminating in the third year, some happy, others worried, because they had to make up subjects. Luckily, I had passed all the subjects and I could celebrate that I had been promoted to the fourth year. "Guys, this last day of classes, we should do something different," said David, the naughtiest classmate in the class, who had to make up 4 subjects.

"You, you're going to celebrate!" said Susana, mockingly.

"Of course I am!"

"But, you still don't know if you will pass, the subjects you have to make up."

"I'll celebrate the end of the course," said David, smiling.

"What do you propose?" said Luis.

"That we go to the Gallo ravine."

La quebrada del gallo, was a small creek, which was at the foot of Cerro Pariapan, it was very close to our high school. I had never been, but many of my classmates frequently visited this place.

My friend Ángela, approached me, saying "Let 's go Inés".

"Shall we go without asking permission?"

"Just this once, let's skip the rules," she said, winking.

Almost the whole room agreed to go, but I wasn't sure about doing it. In the end, at Angela's insistence, I agreed to go.

At about 9:30, we left for our short excursion, because at 12 o'clock we should be back home, we went to a grocery store, which was on the way and bought some knick-knacks; David bought a bottle of liquor, I did not like this very much, but I did not say anything.
All of a sudden it started to drizzle.

"It will rain, we'd better not go," I said to Angela.

"It's just a drizzle, don't back out."

"Maybe the rain is a warning that we shouldn't go".

"Well, if you want to listen to your intuition and go back, you still have time to do it," said Angela,

I didn't answer her anything, I just kept looking at her, and kept walking.

More or less in 20 minutes, we arrived at a rural area, we walked a little more and there it was, the famous Gallo creek. It was a cozy place, crystal clear water flowed through the creek, there were lush trees and many plants.

Angela, Diana and I decided to walk around the place.

Suddenly, raindrops began to fall, so thick that they seemed like projectiles, some of us ran to take shelter under the trees, others with everything and clothes, jumped into the water; When it stopped raining, the whole place was bogged down, while walking we were sliding, unintentionally, David took mud with his hands and began to throw it against some of us.

It was a very uncomfortable situation. Angela and I approached the bank of the creek to wash our faces and arms, then David approached us and threw us into the water. I think the liquor had taken effect, that's why he behaved this way.

"Why did you do this?", I shouted to David, enraged.

We got out of the water, apparently Angela was enjoying what was happening, but I just wanted to get out of there.

"Excuse me, Ines," David said.

"I should never have come, from the beginning I sensed it was a bad idea to come here", I replied, as I walked.

"Wait Inés, where are you going?"

"I'm going to my house, if you want to stay, do it," Angela told me.

I picked up my bag, and got ready to leave; Angela and some others followed me.

"Wait guys, we're all leaving now," David shouted.

At this point, it had stopped raining; the others gathered their belongings, and came after us, we were all walking in silence, when suddenly, out of some bushes, a gigantic dog came out, barking loudly.

We all ran away, fleeing from that animal, which seemed to be possessed, its eyes were wild, it showed its big fangs and a lot of drool was coming out of its mouth.

We could not find a way to escape, each bark of that animal, we heard it closer, literally, it was on our heels.

While running, Luis tripped over a tree root and fell to the ground.

Suddenly, we heard someone's voice shouting:

"Bronco, bronco, come here!"

Hearing this voice, the dog stopped immediately and that ferocious beast turned into a harmless puppy; The man went to him, took him by the girth, which was hanging from the collar of his neck, turned around and without saying anything, just walked away.

David helped Luis get up from the ground, who had hit his forehead with a stone, which made a wound, from which blood gushed out.

We had to put a piece of flannel, put it, putting pressure on Luis' wound, then we got out of there, David and Diana took him to the hospital, where they suture the wound.

Luis told what happened to his parents, who in turn notified the school authorities, who decided that because of this prank, the 3rd year Section "B" would not have an end of the year party.

In addition to this punishment, I also received a punishment at home, I could not go out for a month, all this happened because I did not listen to my intuition.

@inessita, unfortunately the name you have used for the animal is a very bad word in English. It is considered a racial slur, and is a harmful word. Please change it to something else.

apologize, in my country, it is very common to see this name in dogs and cats, I will correct it, I am very sorry.

Thank you for fixing that, @inessita. That is surprising that it is a common word in some places.

You had an adventure that day. It is amazing that all of that happened to you!

Wow, thing ms could have gone pretty badly for you guys if the owner of the dog didn't show up.

Thank God wasn't more than that and I hope next time, you will always put your intuition into consideration.
