RE: Life Shades

I must have missed it; after Gozie's guardian, Mrs. Linda, fell ill and was taken to the hospital away from him, why didn't he contact Mr. Elliot, who brought him there to shield him from his wife? After all, he was adopted by them and they remained his adopted parents.

By the way, I love that his story changed for the better and he didn't repay Mrs. Elliot back in her own coins.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment @iskawrites. You have raised a valid point about why Gozie didn't contact Mr. Elliot after Mrs. Linda fell ill and was taken away.

In the story, many factors influenced his decision. Considering the hardships he had faced in the past and his determination to succeed despite all odds, that's my way of portraying a sense of responsibility and Independence.

Also a way to avoid being a burden to Mrs Elliot as Mr Elliot could ask him to return home thus altering his sense of Independence and then facing again the ill treatment from Mrs Elliot. Thank you very much your sharing your view on my story.
