It's not bad advice! Ha ha. Thank you for making one of the points I attempted to make in this article, which I think can be summarized as: Every writing professional you speak to will give you a different set of essential qualities required of writers. For example, I can't imagine Stephen King and Sue Grafton received exactly the same writing advice, but they are/were both prolific and gifted writers.
Determination to succeed, regardless of what anyone tells you, may be the one thing that gets you there, at the end of the day.
I think she had had her fill of people who thought their writing was "special" and she must give up her time to read it 😁
I agree, though, determination to succeed and keeping going, one minute at a time!
That is ultimately why I chose not to go into that profession. Nurturing writers is fun, but there are some challenges that come along with it!
