I love the character development of the cat and dog in this story, as well as your sense of humor, @vincric. Their dialog and the way they each think is really well done!
There were a few places where I thought the subtle humor was just perfect, like here:
“Hey Patsy, where do you think meat comes from?”
“Huh, the market?” Patsy replied to the unrelated question.
“And where did the meat from the market come from?”
“They grow there.” Patsy answered with confidence.
That is just priceless.
And a bit later, when Patsy starts to gain some awareness and Daisy distracts him from what he is eating...
“But somehow, they smell a bit like familiar, like someone I kno---“
“Just keep eating! If you want more before they run out keep eating and stop talking or thinking!”
I suppose if one is vegetarian, it might not be so funny, but I laughed out loud! Well done.
Thanks, Daisy is just not so social while Patsy is too energetic for her too handle, but they still get along enough to be in the same home.
I found your pet personalities to be very good. Cats always seem like the wiser ones! We have a dog and two cats, and there is generally harmony among them.
