"That young man over there has been staring at you" that was Amelia who tapped me, jotting me out of my thoughts. I looked over to the direction she was pointing at. I sighed after seeing it was Henry.
"He is so handsome,"Sophia added. I glared at her.
"Oh mine, he waved at us"Amelia giggled like a high school girl who has a crush. I was slowly getting pissed by their reaction. I wonder what they were attracted to. Henry has been on my nerves ever since I broke up with Lucus, my ex-finance. It was just a few days before our wedding.
I felt so irritated that Sophia and Amelia were gushing over Henry, I stood up and left the restaurant, they called back but didn't burge to look back. I walked over to my car but was stopped by Henry.
"Why not accept my proposal" he stood with a smirk on his face.
"Are you now stucking me?" I yelled at me.
"I don't care what you call it, just consider my proposal" he sneaked his hands in his trousers pocket looking like a handsome gentleman.
"And why should I?"
"You are going to benefit in this,why I benefit too. Is just killing a bird with two stones" I raised an eyebrow at him, what was he getting at.
"Why don't you get married to me? I will help you get back your father's company while the elders approve my request of taking over my father's company. They won't give it to me unless I'm married" I sighed looking down at him, oh was that his plans I thought to myself. Then the memory came flooding to my head.
It was on a cool evening, I was knocked out from work. I was so exhausted I had to call my driver James to take me home as I couldn't drive myself. Half way home, I got a call from Sophia.
"I just saw your finances at a Montana hotel"she dropped the message.
"He might be there for a business meeting," I told Sophia, shrugging off the idea that my finances were cheating on me.
"I saw him with a woman, they were forlicking" I became alarmed, my heart pounding within.
"Which woman is that? I asked to get more information. She groaned in frustration.
"Go check yourself" before the phone went dead. I inhaled sharply, everywhere felt stuffy. So many thoughts were running through my head. My finances can't be cheating on me, our wedding is just in two weeks. On the other hand,I trust my finances. I wanted to shrug the feeling out but I couldn't. I needed to confirm my fears.
"James turn the car around, head to Montana hotel"
"Yes ma'am" he answered as I kneeled my back looking through the window.
I'm in front of the door where my finances lodge, I could hear them moaning. My tears begin to drip. That isn't what I bargained for after dating him for 3 years. I took a deep breath before I knocked on the door.
"Who is it?" Sounding across the other end, it was Lucus's voice, a cold shiver ran through my spine. I had to compose myself, I sniffed in and wept away my tears. I have to make sure my voice doesn't crack.
"It's the waiter" I said across, he came forward and opened the door, he was shocked to see me at the door.
"What are you doing here?" I ignored his questions and pushed through into the room, to see the bitch he was cheating on me with.
It was no other person but Alice,my best friend "no no no no…..no…no" I kept screaming, the pain pierced like a sword. I pushed myself to the wall to steady myself.
"How could you? After what we have been through" she used the duvet to cover her nakedness, crossing her hands across her breast. Her laughter echoed through the room.
"You must be clueless that Lucus loves you, he was using you to get your father's company" her words hit me, it was adding more fire to my pain. I looked at Lucas to confirm what Alice was spitting out.
"Mia you need to leave" I was sure I was soon going to lose it, how can my fiance be cheating right under my nose with my best friend and they don't even feel guilty after being caught.
"You were willing to sign the file, it took you so long but my waiting was worth it" Alice smeared as she spit out all their plans. I was loved for what he was willing to gain. I didn't see anything signaling my father's company over my finances. I trusted him to handle all the affairs now I have just been used. His care and tender love was all fake.
Lucus pushed me out of the door, locking it. I kept banging on the door and wailing but it fell on deaf ears but instead they resumed their love making.
I walked out of the hotel like a lost puppy, tears streaming down my cheeks. Cheers. I lost my father's company and my finances in one day. Henry's tap on my shoulder jotted me back to reality.
"Hey, I have been waiting for your answers" Henry has been disturbing me for a relationship even when I was with my finances but I didn't agree to his proposal.
"Ok, let's do this but there won't be any intimate" I eyed him, a grin crept across to his face. He raised his hands to air in defense.
"I won't do anything unless you asked me to" I rolled my eyes at him.
I was now a Mrs, my wedding with Henry was low-key as it was done with just family members. I needed to pay my ex-finance a visit. I was seated at his office while he walked in through the door. He looked surprised at me when he saw me in his office.
"Well well who do we have here" I stood up walking to where he was standing.
"What are you doing here, you bitch" he spat out his discomfort.
"Oh common, are you not happy to see me honey" I touched his tie adjusting it. " I came to take what belongs to me"
"What are you talking about?"
"Oh, you must be clueless that I will leave my father's company to you" he gave out a laugh like I was acting in a comedy movie.
"Drop that, you signed those documents, remember"
"Yes I did,but the elders signature wasn't on it, now I'm married I want to hand it over to my husband" he got the shock of his life.
"You never thought I would be married, probably you thought I wouldn't get over you" I laughed at him, coming closer to his ears.
"You have 24 hours to pack and leave my property, before the cops meet you here" I stormed out of the office as he kept yelling.
"I promise you, you will pay for this". But I ignored him. The memory of my past lover was a deep scar in my soul. I have won the battle. Oh I didn't mention, I was now inlove with Henry. We look forward to a delightful future.
A rather rosy story, almost like an entire script for one of those scandalous soap operas with a lot of drama. Actions that do not resonate with low-level people. In short, very entertaining.
