The Ink well prompt #62 : Recurring healing

in The Ink Well2 years ago

Ella looked at the picture frame on the wall and smiled.
"we are doing your best today" she said to herself.
Her children were busy gathering what they need for fishing. She can feel their excitement, she was glad that her husband left a lot of beautiful memories with the kids.
Even as they are all grown now, they still enjoyed doing those things together.

He was so close to them and always wanted to engage them with what he does best.
"mother, we are ready" Justin her first son informed her.
"okay, darling help me with my scarf" she said.
"I already brought it, I know you wouldn't go out fishing without it" Justin said.
Ella smiled remembering the same exact words her husband George could always say.
"I guess I will feel less lonely George" she said walking to were the car was parked.
"Everyone's ready!!" Justin asked.
"Yah, let's hit the road" the others replied together.
All Ella did was sit and watch the beautiful ocean, that's what she always do whenever she and George go for fishing.
But this time around Justin made sure she was doing something.
"mom come over, the big one is coming!!!" he shouted.
Ella jumped to her feet and went to where they were fishing and held the hook.
"Wow is really a big one" she confirmed.

She laughed so much that day, she haven't had so much fun since her husband died.
She was glad that her children came around especially Justin.
She came back that day, looked at the picture frame again with smiles she said.
"Thank you for leaving so much in the kids especially Justin"

Few days passed with her not being in sorrow,She started feeling down when she remembered her children will be going back soon. The days they promised to stay at home with her were over, she became sadden again.
Justin seeing that her mother can't cope with staying alone decided to start up a coffee shop in there hometown.
Besides he wasn't doing much in the city, and he was confident that the coffee shop will bring so much gain.
His siblings left leaving him and their mother at home, he waved them goodbye saying he wanted to stay more days.
He talked to his mother about the coffee shop, he was so surprised to see her crying when he mentioned it.
"She's emotional again?" he asked himself confused on his mother's reaction.

He opened the coffee shop in no time with his savings.
The shop was very dry at first, but he never gave up. He believed something good will happen one day and will last forever.
Few months later, the shop started booming with a lot of people tripping in and out.
He was happy and glad.
Ella could always stand from a distance and watch him prepare coffee and serve.
"George does he know that this was how we met?" she asked herself.
When Justin came back one day and was telling her how the shop is doing so much better than when he started it, saying he never regretted staying back.
Ella embraced him warmly, and told him not to worry about her anymore.
That she will be fine now, and have decided to start a beautiful life.
"You know I have been busy in my flower garden" she said.
Justin was so happy to hear her say that, indeed she is coming back to her old self.
