THE WISE BALD HUNTSMAN

in The Ink Welllast year

This is the story of a wise huntsman who once lived. He was apparently bald and had to cover up by wearing wigs. One faithful day, this huntsman was journeying with his friends and a notorious wind blew. The wind carried the wig off the huntsman's head. The scene was truly a spectacle of humor and laughter. The friends burst into great laughter after seeing a man lose his wig and displayed a head as bald as the shield of an army commander.

Thanks for sharing.
Good day.

I enjoyed reading this amazing piece and let me tell you, I laughed out loud. The huntsman is someone I want in my corner. I would pay to go see his show.

Well done. Your use of words is exceptional.

hello @juejutopia, here are a few points that were picked up in reading your piece.

You have a good blend of narration and action but no dialogue. Dialogue and interactions between characters is an important mechanism to show the reader what is happening rather than simply telling the reader everything, and to help us to connect with the characters. It works really well as part of the action-narration-dialogue trinity. The reader can start to feel removed from the experience and feel like they are being denied the opportunity to use their imagination. The story then starts to feel a little flat.

The choice of profession for your MC also seemed a bit odd. I wonder why you chose Huntsman and spent so much time emphasising this throughout the tale. By repeatedly referring to him as the Huntsman as opposed to giving him a name, it became a distraction for me while reading, as being a Huntsman apparently bore no relevance to the rest of the story.

It also felt like there was no real conflict introduced in the story and therefore no opportunity for character development and a striking character arc.

I hope these few points are helpful to you. I would suggest reading through the catalog of fiction that has been shared with you to understand all the great ingredients of a good story and how to mix them together well for your next story. If your story had included more of these it would have elevated it significantly.
