Inkwell 71 | Agatha

in The Ink Well2 years ago

At age 12, Agatha loss her parents. This weighed her down so much that she depended on her uncle for shelter, food and safety. At age 18, she demanded for her birthrights but was denied of it all.
Her culture demanded that all that belongs to her father should be channeled to her, but her case was different as the uncle took advantage of her ignorance, manipulated the sharing of all the landed properties and diverted all to his pocket. This got her limited to resources thereby preventing her of the ability to know whose family she was born, either of his dead father or his living uncle.
This left her with nothing as the stereotype of female not owning any landed property deemed on her.
Her inability to lay complain concerning her lacks before the king manipulated her perception on men and family entirely. She swore an oath before the gods of their land to never be related to anything close to keeping her tied up in a family.

She left her uncle's house at age 22 straight to the streets of Alanka where she mate Ojaba the beast of no nation which disappears on touching a single drop of water.
Ojaba was accused of possessing many magical powers which he used to rob many banks, shops and supermarkets without being noticed. He was also accused by many young girls of breaking their hearts immediately they bring up marriage issues with him.
Agatha, whose mind was ten thousand miles away from being married to a man mate her heart desires who cared less about marriage.
The two homeless birds began to flock together with one purpose "to be limitless".
They robbed many banks and markets, killed none and made jest with all their illegal acts.
The police hunted them for years without a single success. This in order hand made them to be more popular, known to be threatening and feared by all who made use of money, properties and owned clubhouses.
Their news flew far and wide to the ears and eyes of many law enforcement agencies, but all were made useless by their disappearances.
This made them to become more proud of what they do which they chose as their main hubby.
Proud Agatha never did a calculation of any negative outcome of her actions, and never minded the fact that she has nobody to speak for her if Ojaba should change his mind at anytime.
As two people with the same level of reasoning, feelings began to develop between each other, same was love and trust. It continued to grow from one better level to the order which later influenced Agatha's judgements and reputation for Ojaba.

At age 25, Agatha got pregnant for Ojaba. This fumed anger and regret between the two lovers leading to abuse of words between each other. Ojaba as usual rejected Agatha and wanted out of the relationship. Agatha demanded for an abortion of the pregnancy even at its third month.
The Romeo and Juliet thing dissolved quickly, but not peacefully.
Agatha who swore to have no mercy on men that failed their families and took advantage of the less privileged revoked her aggressions to fight Ojaba tooth and nail.
As Ojaba went back fully to his crew, they warned him of nemesis, bad karma and mother nature which pays back for every action one takes, but pride overshadowed his mentality. Later, he was rejected by his former crew who feared for their safety and existence, knowing fully well of what must come from Agatha due to Ojaba's rejection.
He felt so bad that he could not get back to his crew. He began to do things in his own way and this time, one man army, just like the One Man Squad kind of a thing.
Agatha gave birth to a boy, nursed him to age 3 without his father's support and visitation.
She willed him to the Catholic church so as to prevent him from following her path nor learning about what she does for money.
She felt more relieved after giving away Charles, her son to the Catholic church so as to consider what to do with Ojaba who broke the rule of the game.
She confidently attacked Ojaba in the open, but he disappeared before she could pick up a stone for the next throw. She vexed for losing her first try. Ojaba on the other hand went straight to the Catholic church and kidnapped Charles, kept him as his safety insurance while looking for ways to get himself out of his miscalculation.
Agatha couldn't bear the pain of loosing her son. She connived with the police as a mother whose child was kidnapped by the disappearing Ojaba.
The police ignorantly admitted her claims and worked with her according to her strategy.
She opted in for a truce between her and Ojaba until their son is 18 and Ojaba demanded to meet her one on one without knowing her intension.
On the day of the truce, Ojaba was ambushed by the police even before sighting Agatha on the other end of the road.
Freeze or we'll shoot!
Ojaba looked around for water, but none was available. His pride could not take the fact that he's going to spend the rest of his life in the prison cell. He brought out his pistol and shot a police officer in his bullet proof vest, attempted to fire the second bullet, but was pepper sprayed in the eyes by another police officer.
He got arrested and was taken to the prisons immediately. Agatha's case on the other hand was revealed by the crimes department. She got arrested on her way back while her son was properly taken care of by the Catholic church priest.

Ojaba and Agatha both made bad choices. They were driven by pride, greed and anger. None of these are good qualities for raising a child. It is fortunate that the Catholic Church (or any good place) will raise Charles.

You certainly do handle the prompt and the challenge well. Thank you for sharing this story with the Inkwell community. We appreciate that you engage with other authors.

Yeah, the three behaviors are bad for anyone. Well, I don't blame her because she lacked parental guidance.
Thanks for curating my post.

Waw. Her wrong choice brought her to experience life in the prisons. Well, I blame the uncle for his dubious life

Yes, if the uncle was considerate, she won't have ended up in the prisons

They both made bad choices. I think it's good for our own safety to always make decisions with a clear head and not when we're hurting else we could fall into the wrong hands like Agatha

Yes, she made a bad decision due to frustration. It's really bad when we decide what's good for us at such situation

Story about two people who seemed to have journeyed the wrong course of life and how it ended badly for them. Agatha should have known better.

Yeah, she should. Thanks for ready and commenting on my post.

Oh my, bad decision is very harmful and must be discouraged. The girl chose based on what she felt would give her all the freedom in the world, but wasn't reasonable to predict the future.
