They say that power corrupts and this political story explores the consequences on friendship.

Little did Richard know that Kelvin had ambitions of becoming Arla’s ruler. The election to choose a new ruler was close and plans were underway on all sides. Kelvin had been strategically plotting with Richard’s opposition to overthrow him. They didn’t want Richard to go for a second tenure.

It looks like the food crisis did not help Richard. I like your interpretation of the prompt ticket in this instance. I would have liked to read more about the "ticketing" process because I am not familiar with it, so I don't know the extent of Richard's mismanagement (though I can I can imagine it was a disaster).

I enjoyed reading your story.
