Love is indeed a beautiful thing; you give it a chance, and you will enjoy it, and you will wish for it to never end, and when it hurts you, you will wish it never happened in the first place, as if it did not happen, you won't have to suffer the pains that come with a beautiful thing coming to an end. At some point in our lives we have all experienced love; some blossomed, and we got the chance to walk down the aisle with that special person; some of us only did that in our heads and never got the chance to actually walk down the aisle but were forced to heal and move on.
We had a new family move into our neighborhood, and it did not take me time to get my eyes on Rose, our new neighbor's daughter. She was everything a man would ever wish for, but I was shy and only crushed on her from afar and could not make a move or make my intentions known.
"She will never know how you feel about her if you don't approach her." Emmanuel, my friend who caught me looking at Rose, said.
"Who? What are you talking about?" I asked pretending not to know what he was talking about.
"Rose of course, I see how you look at her and even when you talk to her or see her you lit up immediately, your mood and all just tell her how you feel already." Emmanuel said
"I am shy bro, I really don't know how to but I really wish I could just so I know if I stand a chance." I said as I put my hands on my head.
"Just look for a way to tell her and see her reaction, don't stay and here and conclude." Emmanuel said as he walked away.
I went to bed thinking about what Emmanuel advised, I really do like her and having her in my life will be a bliss and will make me feel complete but I needed the opportunity to do that as she is always busy and always at home and I went to bed hoping that an opportunity to approach rose and confess my feelings for her would come and just like I hoped the day did come. I was just on my way back from church and sighted Rose a few meters away from me and I hastened my steps to catch up with her.
"Hey, Rose. This one you are out today I hope all is well?" I teased as she smiled
"I am an introvert and don't really know people around here, that is why I spend most of time indoors." Rose said
"I have been meaning to tell you something but I don't know how you would react to what I have to say or what your answer will be." I said making a face.
"You like me?" Rose asked leaving me in shock. "I have been watching you too I wonder what took you so long." Rose said looking me in the eye.
It was like a movie; I was speechless, and she did almost all the talking as we walked home. I was just left wondering what her answer would be even though she did not even give me the chance to ask my question. She was a vibe, and we were indeed compatible, and before you know it, we were home already. "So before I go, what is it you wanted to tell me? And I hope I don't talk too much," Rose asked with a smile on her face.
"You already talked about it, do I still have to say it?" I said
"You have to because it is kind of a tradition or something like that." Rose said waiting for me to say what I have in mind.
"Fine then, yeah, I like you, and I don't know if we can be a thing." I said shyly.
"Like I said, I have been seeing you too, though we don't talk for long, but I also liked you from afar, so yes, we can be a thing." Rose said, looking me in the eye, waiting for a reaction.
That day was one of the happiest days of my life; how it happened, how she accepted, and how fast we became a thing was unexplainable, as even my friends did not believe it. She made me believe that somebody that does like you will indeed make things easy for you. The following few months came with the best feelings for me; getting to spend time with her and having her around was nice indeed, but like they say, good things don't last. I gained admission into college, and she called it off, saying she cannot do a long-distance relationship, and with all the stories she has heard about what guys do when they get to college, she cannot risk experiencing such a thing.
After the breakup I had to do a clean sweep to get my mind off her, as much as it hurts and I wish we did not happen but truth be told, it was fun while it lasted.
Life sometimes takes different and uncertain paths.
The unexpected happens, and we just accept it and move on.
It's so sad when love relationships end unexpectedly! But as you say: it was fun while it lasted. Regards
Thank you for dropping by.
It was a beautiful encounter you had indeed, a rare one.
But sometimes life inevitably brings some things your way no matter how hard you try. It does happen, perhaps to strengthen us, preparing us for the future... Or maybe not.
It was indeed a rare encounter.
Thanks for stopping by.
She was bold and knew what she wanted when u approached her but unfortunately she was also bold and called it off for her own reasons.
The way I am seeing you, she was right, lol, just kidding 😅
