Inside out, upside down.

in The Ink Welllast year

Grab the horse by the reins.

That's what they always say.

But...

Sometimes I feel I'm the horse.

Compelled to extinguish my deepest desires.

To do his bidding, he that prepares my hay.

This year has been moving at record speed, but there’s even more weird stuff.

The days feel like months and the months feel like days.

On some days, like today, I feel like I'm the horse.

So full of power, yet tame.

Brimming with smouldering intensity, yet dull as ash.

Everything feels...

Inside out, upside down.

But maybe, just maybe... When the morrow comes, I will throw off my rider.

I will run into the sunset.

I will dance in the rain, revealing a regal charm.

I will be a stallion that the mightiest of Knights dream to own, but are wise enough to stay clear of.

What's all this talk?

I'm back to reality now.

My roommate made sure of that.
She needs my blood for her eggs.

I stopped getting mad at mosquitoes when I realised...

We're not so different.

The same motivation, but different actions.

We're all just trying to survive.

And these days, things are inside out, upside down.
