“I believed I was the best, but now I'm taking the full blame for the mistake I had caused. I'm deeply sorry”, it sounds like a surprise seeing Jossy speaks apologetically.
“The very first time I got my new job after losing the first one I was into, I felt I was going to be the best at making decisions, but the reverse was the case. I thought no one would dare my talents, not knowing that my talents were going to go to a slump”, Ben complained.
Jossy has been the heart of an electrical company in California. His name had been ringing in the hearts of so many people as well as companies around. Everyone just wanted his talents, but he had this annoying part of him. Making decisions solely without consulting his subordinates has been his character. Although, his spirit of not relenting I'm achieving his aim is one thing that kept him on top of others.
He's the backbone of the company and anything he made had always been the best, even after critical research. He always publishes his work before cross-checking.
“We need to upgrade the company to a different level and to the level that suits the masses”, He was so self-confidence to say that and indeed that would make the company be ranked the best among others.
“What's the idea and where do we go from here and what should we be expecting?” Ben, who was thinking he, would become the best voiced out after months of not intruding in the company's affairs except facing his job assigned to him.
“I want to make a robot that we can direct to houses to deliver goods (our books)”, Jossy said, as he wanted to do it in his own way.
“Can we put in our idea?” Ben asked.
“Do you have any idea? I think I'm good to go with my worths about the creation”, Jossy said arrogantly.
“But don't you think involving the robot would bring our customers down? Don't you think we should do it the same way we were doing it? Let's create the robot to attend to people online, since we can program it to carry out that task. We can just do the delivery in kindness and kindhearted just as usual so that we can keep our customers intact”, Ben gave his advice, but Jossy who was full of himself, needed to do it in his own way just to entice the management of the company just as usual.
“I'm the best when it comes to this and no one can direct me on what to do”, he replied rudely.
Everyone kept quiet and began to wait keenly for the outcome.
After six months, the robot was created and his first trial was superb. He received praises from customers as to the behaviours of the robot. This gave him a plus in the presence of the management.
The next day, the robot was sent to deliver some goods. It carried the goods but gave out an offensive look. The receivers were not pleased with the character. They thought it might be the way it was programmed. The next day, the goods delivered to them were not their actual goods. Things began to get shattered as costumers started calling from different angles. Complaint became the order of the day. Their mails were flooded with abuse messages and different forms of unwanted messages. This made the management vent their temper on Jossy.
Jossy lost his worth after this one mistake, just because he was not ready to listen to other's opinion.
“Who do you think you are to let our company fall that low? We were not among top twenty, just me as of this mistake you have made. We dropped from 3rd position to something I did not know”, one of the owners reacted.
“I'm sorry for letting you down this way. It won't happen again. I will make up something that will bring back the customers we had lost”, Jossy said to the company owner.
He called for a meeting. “I'm sorry for not taking to your opinions, most especially what Ben was trying to warn me about. Please, I will accept the blame and I promise I will always accept whatever idea you have in stock”, all the members as well as Ben opened their eyes widely in surprise. Their surprise was as a result that Jossy is not the type that do apologize, but since he did, they all guessed he's deeply sorry.
