TURN OF EVENTS

It all started to crumble when Sam lost his job. They had only been married for about four months when he got laid off because the company could no longer pay all their staff.

Although Sam was disappointed that this happened to him, his wife encouraged him. She talked uplifting words to him. But when a day rolled into a week, then a month and more and he still hadn't gotten a job, he became grumpy.

They had lived a happy, comfortable life prior .
Meanwhile his wife, Titi, had to stay on her job and take care of the family with the salary that she was making. She never complained that it was much work on her. But his situation was taking a toll on him. He wasn't comfortable with his wife shedding all the bills and taking care of him. He thought it a disrespect on his person.

And with staying idle and lonely, he began to get irritable.

Titi got back from work and on getting into the house, after exchanging hugs with her husband, Sam, she took in a deep breath and said, "I can perceive something nice. Did you prepare food?

With mild irritation, he replied, "prepare food as what? Your maid?"

Titi laughed and said to him, "you know that that's not what I mean. The house just smells good and ..."

Interrupting her words, he said, "Save that explanation. Yes, I prepared food, but don't think that this will always be so," he said and walked out of her presence.

Titi was surprised at his words but she dismissed it as one of his playful, crazy acts.

And that was how it grew worse.
Sam started to grumble and complain at the littlest of things.

Because his wife assumed that his inability to land a job made him so uptight, she would often get him edibles and gifts or whatever she thought that he would like inorder to make him happy.

But for every of that gesture, he grew more upset and would flip the tables, telling her that she was making fun of him.

"Why do you keep misinterpreting my gestures," Titi finally asked on one of such occasions when he had queried her good deed.

"What gestures. These things you do to spite me?" Sam said.

"Spite you you say. How could i ever do that? I don't ever try to spite you. You're getting moody by the day and I don't like that. I want you to always be happy that's why I do what I do," she said, looking at him.

"Of course, you do," Sam scoffed, "you do all these petty things inorder to rub it in my face that you're the provider in this home. What did I even expect. The shoe is now on the other foot and you're only acting as a woman would."

"Baby, please stop this already. Stop saying those things," Titi cried.

"You know what, I should tell you what I think. I think you're bad luck, and I regret this union.
Cause how do you explain that it's just after I got married to you that I started going through all this," Sam said slapping his palms together.

Titi stared at him in shock and disbelief.

"I can not believe that you can say any of those words to me when I have been nothing but loving and committed to our family."

Sam gave a weak, dry laugh, "I'm waiting for the part where you go on to list all what you've done for me."

This set Titi on the edge and putting all her reservations aside, she told him, "I have every right to, if I so choose. Infact, you know what, I've had it up to here..," she pointed to her neck, "..what if you're the one who is bad for me? What if you are the bad luck, cause, look at us both."

"Do you realize that i am the one youre talking to in th... " Sam was saying.

"Oh please, spare me that. You think youre the only one calable of being disrespectful, right? Well, surprise!! See, you better look for a way to fix your life and quit blaming me for your misfortunes," she had said matter-of-factly and as if remembering something, she added, "...and also, this would be the very last time that i ever get to stomach all the nonsense you dish, you get that?"

She walked out of their bedroom without giving Sam a moment to say anything back. Sam, on the other hand, just stood there in shock and disbelief as she exited his presence.

Whoa, this argument just escalated quickly! I can feel the tension and emotion between Sam and Titi. It's like I'm right there in the room with them. Great job writing this intense conversation, supernova004! I'm on the edge of my seat wondering what's going to happen next. Will they be able to resolve their issues and save their relationship?

It just happened that Titi also had to express herself. Sam wasn't the only one capable of being a disrespectful.

As regards what the end should be, i leave that to your imagination😀

Well well, from the story, Titi was being responsable and trying to keep her home no matter what Oga was not seeing that way and I don't blame him. Men tend to get frustrated with many weird thoughts when things are not working

Yes, she was.
Her husband was wrong to condemn her efforts.
