What an intriguing story! A good concept, to use the library as the nexus of a plot. The reader wonders about the true meaning of the word 'hit'. Is the narrator overreaching? Is the love of suspense leading the narrator to a dramatic conclusion that may not be justified by reality?
You build suspense. You give us insight into the character of the protagonist. However, you do leave us hungry for a resolution.
