You did a great job with the prompt, and with the challenge. In this story, Jeff has three conflicts to resolve. He has to win, he has to recover from his accident, and he has to help his mother when she is stricken. Often, three conflicts are too many. However, you manage it. You ty in the three themes so that the reader is not overwhelmed and is prepared for the resolution.
