RE: The Future Alike

This story is so clever, so original. It was a pleasure to read. It works on a literal level: the arc is strong, the character relatable and the scene descriptions vivid. It works on a symbolic level. The sense that we are not truly 'here' but are actually part of an alternate reality, or even subjects of an alternate entity--this is a theme that has run through literature for centuries.

The end is satisfying, the public places named after your protagonist. Yes, a protagonist and certainly a powerful antagonist. As for the prompt: One would say this character has a lot to worry about.

It's my biggest pleasure to know my story met all these elements you mentioned. I'd say it was a stroke of luck to finish this one, as I didn't find a good final for it first.

I agree on this theme have been around throughout literature history (and, maybe in other areas). Such persistence may mean something most people should pay attention some day, shouldn't they?

Sure. I'll comment on more stories. So many talented authors. Thanks!
