It is hard to believe that in a school common area, where a crowd has been drawn, that no one would interfere with a football player physically harming a girl. This illustrates that perhaps Quan has some mysterious pull over the others, yet it also makes the resolution difficult to read. In real life bullies do get away with things that they shouldn't however, and you highlight the reality of that in a potent way here.
