You have written a complex story with a strong arc. The Ink Well community will be pleased to curate, but we would like you to remove one element please: torture. This is not essential to your story. You can explain that Thompson was subjected to a long and difficult interrogation. Torture, however, is not welcome in the community. It would be best when writing for this community to avoid torture, violence, abuse, etc. Here's a link to our most recent post on this policy. We look forward to reading a story that does not contain torture.
