This is a story with at least two wise messages. Making decisions for people, even if you are taking care of them, is like turning them into caged birds. Without freedom, it is hard to fully realize potential as an individual. The second kernel of wisdom comes from the elderly man. Forgiveness sometimes is the path toward a better future.
