It's too bad you didn't feel any sense of loss or sadness when your grandfather died. Sometimes grief can come much later.
Note that your story is mostly repeated. After the 10th paragraph there is a paragraph that starts with "***In loving" and then everything after that is a repeat of the story. So you'll want to correct that.
