Building More Than an RC Car

in The Ink Well7 months ago

In the ever busy, and noisy halls of my senior secondary school, Seun, my close partner, and I myself were constantly trying to find several interesting activities we could easily transport our inquisitiveness and imagination through. One particular day, I came across an old dirty box of scrap wood, nuts and bolts, sitting in the school's workshop, and so I thought it was a good idea to develop an RC car from the ground, up with those items.

" Hey Seun, take a look at this! We can completely make a nice RC car out of these items." I said loudly smiling and pointing towards the box.

Seun seeing the box with the items, reciprocated with a genuine smile of excitement. "Absolutely! I can even see some nuts and bolts which will actually make the Rc car firm and strong."

Immediately, we picked up the box, and started with the construction which seemed to take all our free time, but equipped with determination, we refused to back down.

On the days we had scheduled for our little creation, we discussed the things to do to make our RC car stand out— "Alright, so first and foremost, we really need to reduce the size of this wood right into the car's framework." I said, handing a saw and chisel to Seun .

As we thoroughly reduced the wood, shaping it to the structure of our choice, the complex nature of the job emerged.

"This is just like creating a challenge, Tim. Each item needs to fit flawlessly." Seun voiced out, returning a large screw, and picking up a smaller one.

"Exactly Seun just as it is in life, every item has its unique position, and function. It's the exact same with nuts and bolts-- they unite with each other, developing a useful whole." I included, pondering on the allegory.

Well, the detailing of our toy car proceeded as we glued and screwed the properly carved wood slabs with each other, developing the base of our RC car.

"Imagine if life were just as easy as placing nuts and bolts with each other. Putting in what fits properly, and replacing those that don't fit so well." Seun mused, deep in his thoughts.

"Hmm...you are right, but there's more to nuts and bolts...you know, it's majorly about finding equilibrium. If it's too loose, it falls off, if it's too tight, it breaks down too. Very similar to the connections and difficulties we deal with." I voiced, tightening up a tiny screw.

Days gradually switched into weeks, just as our RC car gradually formed. We added the wheels, electric motors, as well as the other needed electronic items.

And on the final finishing day, we couldn't help but feel impressed with our newly developed toy car.

"Woww, this toy car resembles an icon of determination. All these tiny parts collaborated to develop something remarkable!" Seun wondered.

"Yep. It's a testimony to just how our lives are constructed from relatively insignificant moments and choices." I responded, soldering the remote wires together.

Finally, after weeks of commitment and effort we stood back and appreciated our creation—a fully operational RC car.

"It's actually very impressive to see how something as tricky as nuts and bolts could make such a distinction." Seun said with a captivated tone.

"Yes! It's just like the tiny information in life that usually goes undetected yet is important for success." I included driving the RC car around the school's broad walk way, which caught lots of attention, probably because of its dazzling yellow colour.

Our little invention not only provided us with an enjoyable plaything and recognition, but also a very useful lesson. It educated us on the hidden charm of cooperation too.

As I recollected this part of my senior secondary school days, it dawned on me that the RC car task had a long-term effect on our lives, and it made us value the intricacies of the real world.

And so equipped with the understanding obtained from our wood, adhesives, and most importantly, nuts and bolts, we ventured right into the future-- permanently happy for the lessons discovered as well as the bonds enhanced throughout those days of tinkering and exploration.

Thank you very much for your kind words🙏🙏

Were you able to fit into the car? It'd have been so cool if you were able to fit in yuuno.
