      You create a wonderful mood in this story. We feel the mother's love. We know she has become accustomed to this habit, and yet she is still a little concerned. You cleverly let us know early on that this is not her husband. He is still out, we are informed.

      The ending is very gentle and sweet:

      Sweet Dreams cupcake, mum loves you.
      A kiss to say goodnight now

        This is a such a charming story, @ubani1. I found it interesting how you bring the most subtle conflict into the story — the concern over the husband (where is he?) and whether the mug is broken, and is that the sound of her son sleepwalking? But it's enough. Those concerns in the night create enough tension to carry the story and give it depth. I was so touched by the mother's gentle touch as she guides her son back to bed and says goodnight. Nicely done!
