A very enjoyable story, @ubani1. There is an open mystery about the father's death, but the many interesting details you've provided in this story create a sense of a very complete world. Perhaps you will explore it again in a future story.
Did you stop here? I wish I knew exactly what the Island looked like and if her father's stories were accurate. Well carved out story there with interesting details. Leaves us wanting to know more.
The ending of this story made my brain crunch, Loraine Michealson goes to abuse the inheritance without knowing what she will find and that halo of mystery is what makes the text enjoyable. Images and actions that follow each other and make the story enjoyable and interesting. Thank you for sharing it.
I felt like the story was moving way too fast. But then again, it's a short story so a fast pace was to be expected. That being said, I could not help but to feel unsatisfied, and i think only a continuation of Lorraine's story will fill the void.

Wow, wouldn't that be an intriguing inheritance? Well done, @ubani. A fun read.
